Cora's first camping trip - Memorial Weekend 2009

We took Cora camping for the first time this past weekend. Here are some pictures of our trip...
This is in the walmart parking lot...she's waving to everyone that passes by.
She loves her binoculars...She's always looking for deer or elk (or so she says).
We stopped by Target too...they always give her a sticker.
I'm not sure if daddy could have put the tent up without all that help.
She couldn't wait to sleep in it. (she was even pretending to snore).
Sitting by the campfire eating cookies...
and then chocolate cake (boy, are we in for a long night).
Laughing by the campfire...
Riley finally found someone his own size to play with...
They're playing, I promise...
Cora playing ring toss (she had her form down).
She was actually getting pretty good...
And this is why we had to take a shower before a bath when we got home...She fell asleep just after we started our hike...
Waiting to ride on the 4-wheeler (she actually fell asleep on the way there AND on the way back)...
Tad and JR on top of the world...(Tad's the one on the left)
My sweet little Zoey...I love when she lays like this!
Cora trying to catch the bubbles...
Then Zoey thought she would give it a try...
Zoey even played a little football...
She loved playing in the dirt...
And this was the end result! Atleast she had fun!
The next morning...it's amazing what a few baby wipes will do...Tad and JR cooking the group breakfast...I've never seen so much food (or such a big pot). It was yummy though!
She was protesting...she didn't want me to take down the tent.

We had a blast! We can't wait to go back again soon!

Day Two: Swingset Assembly

Here are some pictures of the swingset in progress...

Tad had plenty of help, even while Cora was napping...
It's starting to look fun...Cora (with crazy nap hair) helping Daddy hammer...
This isn't how a slide works...
She's really concentrating...(check out the "nu-nu" mouth)
Maybe if she watches how dad does it, she can make it work...
I told you...he had more than enough help...
Where's Cora...
Cora and her best buddies enjoying her new picnic table and bench...
Now this looks more like a slide...
Well, this swing isn't very fun on the ground...
That's better...
Hanging on the trapeze bar...
And the finished project...well worth the wait.

Thank you to all who contributed! She loves it! (and Tad did a great job putting it all together)

Day One: Assembling Cora's New Swingset

Cora got a new swingset for her birthday! She had fun helping Daddy put it together. We put it together over two days, so these are some random pictures from the first day. I think she had more fun with daddy's tools. She worked on her car...
and her stroller.
She was so exhausted after all that hard work, she fell asleep at dinner! Bless her heart.
More pictures of the final project to come...

Ennis, Buffalo Jump and the Caverns

While my dad was visiting, we drove out to Ennis. These are some pictures of some on the scenery along the way...
Cora loved this "fish"...(she even moves her mouth like a fish)
My litte cowgirl...
On the way home, we stopped by Buffalo Jump. We have hiked here a couple of times, and they wanted to see it. Here's Cora posing...
Look closely, and you can see Tad, Riley and Zoey near the top...it was taking us too long with a little 2 year old who insisted on walking herself. :)
Tad, Cora and I
I love how she's holding on to his ears... The next day, we went to the Lewis and Clark Caverns. It was amazing! I definitely got a workout. It's about 2 miles, with over 600 steps. Try doing that while holding a 2 year old. :)
Cora did so good...considering the guide told us to be quiet so that we didn't disturb the bats!
Incredible...the pictures don't do it justice...
These were some of the handcarved steps...
Cora and I walking out the tunnel toward daylight...something we hadn't seen in about an hour and a half.
Wow...what a beautiful view to walk out to!
